⦠however that doesnât mean we shouldnât strive for the relaxation that we Mummies deserve, damnit!
Then you can really enjoy yourself! *just kidding*
Try out some of these super scrummy, all natural, in-home treatments to make bath time sheer bliss - both for mind AND body. When you're done making like a prune and shrivelling up in by-yourself-un-disturbed-kiddie-free-bliss, your skin will look totally fabulous.
It's a little piece of Hollywood-like heavenly day-spa-ness that you can get anytime you can find a second to scratch yourself⦠I know - that's not always that easy. Next post is how to give way to get your way⦠and get more baths J
Here are my all-time favourite bath time blissfulness recipesâ¦
Pour 1- 2 cups of pure, raw milk straight into your bath water and add 1/2 cup of raw, pure or organic honey. Stir with an old wooden spoon whilst filling up the bath.
Don't worry! They will be dilute enough so it doesn't smell like a milk shake. Your skin will LOVE you for it⦠I always feel like royalty lying there in my milk and honey baths. Itâs SO scrummy and oh-so-natural J
Milk baths were use in ancient times by the likes of Cleopatra to aid in increased smoothness and to increase suppleness in skin. The lactic acids in milk also aid in exfoliation of dead skin cells.
Light candles. Drink vino. Lie back. Imagine a swathe of sweaty, handsome men fanning your face with giant leaves, clothed in delightfully tiny loin cloths⦠⦠*ahem*
For irritated skin and conditions like eczema and dermatitis, nothing beats oat meal. For chronic eczema, a warm (not hot - too drying) bath with 1 cup of organic oat milk in the water will help calm itching before bed.
Additionally, fill a nylon stocking or muslin bag with organic oat meal and place around the nozzle of your faucet or tap, to allow the water to run over and through it. You can then smear the oat meal directly onto your skin to help with your eczema. You will see amazing results if you do this two - three times a week.
There is a reason why Aveeno uses oats in their skincare products - Mother Nature always has the goods. So leave the Aveeno on the shelf in the chemist and make your own skin treatment bath at home for a fraction of the cost and minus ALL nasties!
3. Chill Out Coconut Lavender Bath Oil
If you are prone to dry skin and stress-headedness which causes dry skin, then taking a hot bath with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 10 drops of lavender oil is wonderful for both issues.
Simply add your oils and then a handful of Celtic Sea Salt for a good aura cleanse, lie back and soak for as long as you like knowing that all the goodies in the oils are hydrating your skin. Imagine a giant punching bag or target board and have fun visualising darts being thrown at the object of your stress-headedness. A very therapeutic experience to be had, here ladies!
It's a delicious feeling when you get out too - and no need to moisturise afterwards.
If youâre feeling very stressed or been going through a hard time of late, the single best thing you can do for yourself is to draw a hot bath and throw in a couple of handfuls of PURE sea salt â I like Celtic Sea Salt best.
Sea salt is full of negative ions which help to ease stress and tension. Sea salt and VERY hot water also helps to cleanse the aura of negative energies, and helps to heal over auric gaps or âholesâ in the energy field around your body which occurs when you are overtired and overstressed. Yes, I know that sounds like some kind of foo-foo-wah-wah nonsense but honestly IT WORKS! Go with me here⦠you will feel heaps better, I promise.
Personally, I put salt in every bath â in addition to other things to give my energy bodies a good cleanse. You can get added cleansing oomph by draping a bag of clear quartz and amethyst crystals over the tap allowing water to run over the stones, infusing the bath with lovely cleansing energy. Place the stones on your forehead or chest whilst bathing to aid your body in releasing negative energies.
4. Romantic, Bewitching Bath
If you are heading out for a night with the girls or planning a schmexy time with hubby, then you canât go passed a romantic bath blend designed to leave men falling at your feet.
Draw your bath as normal and hang a small bag of certain crystals over the tap â rose quartz, red jasper, red garnet, orange carnelian and pink tourmaline are all excellent promoters of healthy sex drive, libido and passion.
As the water runs over these crystals, it will infuse your bath with their vibration. As you relax in the bath, your energy bodies will be infused with these same vibrations. In short, this will help you get into the right mood J
Add 5 drops each of Ylang Ylang, 5 drops of Rose Otto and 5 drops of Jasmine Essential Oils and 2 tablespoons of pure Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for lovely supple skin.
Yumminess on a stick!
