I did not put on much weight during pregnancy but after having my first baby, my weight climbed and climbed. It took me nearly 3 years to get most of it off again!
The second one is me (in the middle), in the middle of my second pregnancy before I started the JuicePlus+ trial. Notice my skin is red and patchy and I look REALLY tired? That is typical of people when pregnant...
During my second pregnancy (this latest one with my son) I was conscious of weight gain however I did not starve myself by any stretch - I ate well, I ate often and I ate some really bad stuff (Cadbury chocolate and KFC anyone?! Erk...) I did put on some weight in the pregnancy but that is to be expected. My total weight gain was 15kgs including the baby. My guess is about 5kgs of that was actual weight gained by me.
There was ONE thing I did differently this time around...
I started taking a new product called JuicePlus+ that I agreed to trial for 4 months. It is a REAL food based product, not synthetically produced and a normal adult dose equates to 17 fruit and vegetable servings per day.
As I was pregnant and feeling tired, I doubled the dose and that means I was giving my body and my baby something like 30+ serves of fruit and vegetables per day, every day! So even on the days when I was naughty and eating crappy foods, I was till giving us both super healthy doses of goodness.
The fruits and vegetables sourced are heritage, chemical free and some are certified organic so its a good blend of great foods that are not doused with chemicals.
The results for me were ABSOLUTELY astounding! I lost 5kgs the first week out of hospital, just resting and breast feeding - I wasn't exercising or starving myself. I ordered pizza that week!
The next week I lost another 2kgs and that bought me down to my pre-pregnancy weight, which was still a little heavier than the first photo above however that is without dieting or exercise. It just came off.
Yes, a lot of that is breast feeding however I DID breast feed for 4 months with my first child and I packed the weight on - as did my mother apparently. This time around it has been the total opposite and I look and feel awesome. People keep commenting on my hair and skin and energy... the only thing I have done differently is to take this new product. That's it!
I am stoked with the results of it however I will let you judge for yourselves... :)
Also, you can see from the picture of me in the pink dress at Melbourne Cup day (2 weeks before my son's due date) that I look less tired and patchy. Yes I am wearing some make up but not a lot and my overall skin tone is WAY better.
Now, I don't have any staged "before" and "after" pictures that would really show the difference in my weight because I didn't think
a) I would ever get it all off again and
b) That this product I was trialling would make such a difference to my physical appearance and energy!
So it may look like that there isn't much difference at all or that the pics are chosen to present me in a better light. I have tried to grab random pics of different times to show my weight DURING pregnancy (because I did put on 14kgs in total with this second pregnancy) and after both pregnancies so you can see my skin and my overall shape and appearance has definitely changed.
I will do some proper pics of after when I get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, before my daughter so you can see properly the difference it has made.
So there you have it! Its not a scientific study, its not even a decent anecdotal story of what I did and how I did it. Its a bunch of random pics showing me at different times and showing that my appearance has DEFINITELY altered.
