Last year Tiendeo launched its online platform in Australia. This includes an app that allows our Australian users to browse catalogs, coupons and deals online helping them to maximize savings on purchases.
The aim of the start-up is to replace all paper & ink leaflets and catalogues, that are often wasted and don’t reach the targeted consumer, with one user friendly application. In the US alone, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 44% of junk mail is discarded without being opened or read, equalling four million tons of waste paper per year, with 32% recovered for recycling.

In the UK, it was estimated that "direct mail and promotions" accounted for between 500,000 and 600,000 tonnes of paper in 2002, with 13% being recycled {Source: Wikipedia}.  In Australia, more than 100 million trees are destroyed each year to make 'junk' mail and 44% of that mail doesn't even get opened {Source: www.1millionwomen.com.au}.

Tiendeo has therefore created a powerful channel for retailers to connect with today’s smart consumer in a more direct, efficient and interactive way.

Eva Martín, CEO of Tiendeo explains that, “after launching in more than 30 countries we decided to continue our international expansion in Australia, as the usage of mobile devices is growing in Australia.”

In fact, BI Intelligence reports that 84% of the Australian population owns smartphones.

The intelligent buyer increasingly uses mobile devices for a consumer trend called `ROPO´ (Research Online, Buy Offline) and Tiendeo is an excellent tool for that. ¨We see that searches increase Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, before people go shopping on the weekend – here I´ll buy diapers, here makeup”.

" Tiendeo´s smart shopping website and app are on a quest to replace all paper catalogs with online à la carte catalogs"

Tiendeo is easy to use: first choose your city, then the category (Grocery, Home, Electronics, etc.) and you´ll see all offers and deals that are available in nearby stores via catalogs and coupons. You can also search for a product, a store or your favorite brand. Users can also use the map function to locate their closest stores.

To sum it up: Tiendeo is a free, user and environmental friendly website/app with à la carte catalogs and deals. Additionally, Tiendeo offers real-time statistics, providing useful insights for retailers and brands about how users interact with their catalogs and campaigns.

" Tiendeo is one of the fastest growing e-commerce startups, with more than 17 million monthly visits in 34 countries!"

Tiendeo was founded in 2011 in sunny Barcelona, Spain.  The Tiendeo brand refers to the Spanish word for store, “Tienda”.  Since its launch four years ago, Tiendeo experienced a meteoric growth in different parts of the world. With more than 17 million global visits per month and more than 2 million app download, Tiendeo is the international market leader of online catalogs.

In Australia, Tiendeo is also well received reaching over a million catalogs readings since its launch last year. These numbers encourage Tiendeo to continue its expansion to new countries with potential success. The next big challenge is Asia, where Tiendeo already is present in China, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia.
