I am a huge fan of finding cheaper, more natural ways to clean my home with our little girl around – she’s into EVERYTHING right now.

Lemon juice, bicarb, salt = cream cleanser
Its nice knowing she can open the sink cupboards and poke about and there is nothing in there at all that can make her sick or poison her… and my home is just as clean as it always was.

One of my favourite recipes is my homemade cream cleanser.

Here’s how to do it!

Ingredients:

1 cup of bicarb / baking soda
1 cup finely ground sea salt
1 cup lemon juice
10 – 20 drops Tea Tree Oil

Mix all dry  ingredients in a bowl pouring in a little lemon juice at a time until you get a thick paste consistency. Add in your 10 drops of Tea Tree oil for anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

Pour into an old shampoo bottle - this one is a corn starch bottle from an old organic shampoo bottle I kept - truly eco!

This cream cleanser can be used on tiles for soap scum, in and around the kitchen particularly on stove tops. It has mild bleaching properties too so you can wipe it on then leave it for a while and wipe it off.

I also use it around tap fixtures with a toothbrush for that icky stuff that cakes around the bottom of your taps on sinks and baths. Works brilliantly there!

So there you have it – a quick, easy, 100% natural alternative to the best cream cleansers on the market. I find it very effective with a soft scourer on tiles and mould though if you want an extra boost, add a dash of eco friendly dishwashing liquid.

Love and shiny tiles,
The Eco Mum xo
