In my experience, without a night light, my little girl just will not settle to sleep.
Sometimes, unfortunately, us Eco Mums have to make some eco-concessions for the health, welfare and sleep of our children.
With that in mind, I ask - which night light do you go for?
Speaking from experience I have found using a Himalayan Salt Lamp an AMAZING night light nursery option.
Aside from the fact that they look stunning – like a piece of warm, glowing rose quartz crystal all lit up from the inside, did you know though that the Himalayan Salt Lamps have amazing health benefits?
Science has yet to prove these beyond a shadow of a doubt though (it’s been a bit slow to catch up on the benefits of various natural salts…) however, being very sensitive to the energy about me and having had these lamps in my own home for many years, I can vouch for their wonders.
Himalayan Salt is actually one of nature’s best natural negative ioniers.
Negative ions are odourless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in these environments – that is why when we are at the beach, near a waterfall or in the mountains we feel better, think clearer and have good “vibes”.
Once they reach our bloodstream, negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy.
Placing a Himalayan Salt Lamp in your baby’s nursery is one way to ensure, despite the energy usage, you are charging that room with lots of negative ions. These will help baby settle better, remain calmer and also induce a “positive vibe” for bubs when in that space. Additionally, negative ions help to alleviate the sluggish feeling caused by electro-magnetic radiation from appliances and wireless devices.
If you must use a nursery night light that is powered by electricity, then do so with one that actually will remove the EMR’s from the room, create a positive vibe in the space and provide wondrous health benefits associated with increased serotonin levels.
Love and light,
The Eco Mum :)
