A lot of people don’t know what this is or how it works, however it has REALLY helped me and a number of other people avoid an array of useless & invasive tests and incorrect diagnoses from the medical profession. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to subject any member of my family to a bunch of needles, radiation from xrays & MRI’s and the like unless they are going to be of some good! So unless those methods of diagnoses are required to dig deeper on a pressing health issue for my family or I, I will not use them. I will always turn to iridology first for diagnosis then look at other methods later.
Case in point #1: My lovely younger brother is a pretty hard core sorta guy. He works full on hours as a warehouse manager, plays soccer, is a personal trainer and also works out every day. He doesn’t drink and follows a pretty strict diet.
He presented to his Doctor with severe headaches which were causing dizziness and blackouts, that had no explicable cause. The Doctor then immediately sent him off for CAT scans & an MRI to determine what it was that was causing it. There was VERY scary talk of tumours and the like, discussions about possible operations, suggestions of cutting his head open to work out the problem. What. The. Hell?
We (my family & I) were all getting very concerned, and I had on more than one occasion been told similar things myself by various members of the not-so-thorough medical profession (my personal favourite - that I was “barren” which I believed for 10 years yet now I have a beautiful baby girl...hmmm....)
Anywho, I emailed I brother and said “Dude - I don’t think these guys are not being thorough enough - I think they’re jumping to some pretty serious conclusions and cutting your head open is not to be taken lightly. Do they know what’s caused it yet?” The response was a resounding ‘Nope’.
So I told him to get his butt off to a Natropath in town (south west NSW) and ask them to do some iridology to help pinpoint a cause for his condition. It was indeed a serious condition but before anyone goes cutting my brother’s head open, I wanted to know they knew for sure what it damn well was! Brain surgery is no laughing matter and should ALWAYS be the last resort, NOT the first!
For once, my brother listened to my suggestion and off he trundled to the local Natropath (my partner calls them Witch Doctors LOL).
Long story short - the Natropath performed said iridology (where they look into the iris of each eye & compare the marks, colours, dots, black spots and all other bits and pieces to their iridology charts giving them a diagnosis of current and past health issues) whereby they determined the problem lay in the top of his spine.
He’d been doing some hard core work outs with kettle bells (where you swing a very heavy object over your head and between your legs and back over your head... repeatedly) & had subsequently done some vertebrae damage, squishing the discs in his neck. Hence - massive head aches, dizziness and black outs. The nerves in the spinal cord or his neck were being squashed and messages to and from the brain weren’t getting through.
Perfectly logical thing to look at for what is causing headaches, especially for a personal trainer who is into cross fit (kettle bells & other pretty hard core methods of working out). The Natropath prescribed certain types of massage to ease the tension & pressure built up in the neck, which, after a couple of sessions, relieved his headaches entirely!
No brain surgery needed.
In actual fact, the CAT scans and MRI’s ordered by the Doctor turned up nothing at all. They still don’t know what was causing the headaches to this day... meanwhile, my brother has been treated and is no longer suffering. Hmmm....
She rang me & as we were chatting about it, I told her to get her butt straight to a Natropath and ask for iridology immediately - the Doctors were scaring the shit out of her with talk of ovarian cancer for goodness sake! How would they know that? And how could they say that to someone without checking and confirming it? I was so cranky when she told me what they were saying to her! She was worried sick which was exacerbating her condition.
Off she trundled to her new found Natropath who conducted an iridology session with her. Turns out it was merely her appendix causing some issues & I believe it had to be removed. That was it! You could imagine her relief (and mine!) when she found out that’s all it was. Ovarian cancer is FAR removed from a not so great appendix... and a far more serious condition. One that SHOULD NOT be thrown around willy-nilly like its nothing.
Let me explain, roughly how iridology works so you can get a better understanding of how it could help you and your family as it has done so for mine.
Here’s how it works: you present to your iridologist with whatever symptoms may be occurring.
They will either take a close up photo of your eye, opened widely so they can see the iris (the coloured bit) all the way around or they will look into your eye with a magnifying torch thingy.
From there, they compare their findings to an iridology chart similar to this one here.
Another example is my partner, whom I dragged along for iridology recently, was “stabbed” in the back of the neck by a wayward palm frond many years ago. Part of it broke off in his neck. There is a significant gash there, still to this day which the iridologist picked up on straight away as an indentation in the outer rim of the iris, corresponding with the neck area. He couldn’t remember what it might have been from, until she said the back or rear section of the neck - I told him about his palm frond story and showed him the gash with his finger.
So, as you can see, iridology is a very accurate and non-invasive diagnostic tool.
For every diagnoses I had for my depression, terribly debilitating menses, raging hormonal issues, skin problems, back problems - no reason was given at all; just treatment and diagnoses, one after the other, always conflicting, never definitive.
After I had had a gut full (literally!) of the medical profession, I found myself a reliable and reputable Natropath. She was 60 years old and looked 35 - that was evidence enough for me taht she knew her stuff!
After I outlined by entire medical history of shenanigans and incorrect assumptions, my Naturopath did some iridology and FINALLY told me what it was that had been causing all these issues!
One of my ovaries wasn’t working, it wasn’t producing eggs at all. So I only ovulated every second month which meant every second menses was hell and the other was bearable. True? Yup - damn true!
Because only one ovary was working, my body wasn’t producing an even amount of progesterone which meant I was also low in testosterone. This meant (in addition to other things they found) I was highly likely to have depressive episodes throughout my life until the ovary was awakened from dormancy. That’s the other thing - the ovary wasn’t dead. It was dormant - sleeping. Doctors had been telling me for years I wouldn’t have kids coz there was something wrong with the way I had been ovulating blah blah blah. It was devastating to hear at age 18 that you’re barren, believe me!
So my Naturopath and I decided we wanted to disprove this bullshit theory from the Doctors and “wake up” my dormant ovary. She used a combination of specially chosen herbs which I was to take very 4 hours for 3 months.
We did this & now, I have a beautiful baby girl who I conceived from a one off “oopsie” that occurred last year. Barren huh? Take that you barren talking Doctors!!!
If you want to know more about how iridology works and how it came to be, then a great book to read is Iridology by Dorothy Hall - and she’s Australian! I have bought this book & keep it on hand to check on things that have been diagnosed & also to check out my family’s irises when something isn’t quite right. I then take them off to a Naturopath (who is always my first point of call - NOT a doctor) to double check what I’ve found & we work out necessary treatment if its needed.
I’m not diagnoses-trigger-happy though. Sometimes things just need to be allowed to ride themselves out and my Naturopath is an advocate for that, as am I. Let the body do its thing and stop interfering so much. You don’t NEED a painkiller for a low fever, or for a slight tension headache - you need rest, fluids and fresh air, plus a reduction in current stress levels.
If ever you’re baffled by symptoms and don’t know what could be causing the problem, then get thee to an iridologist PRONTO! You won’t be sorry you did.
